SoHo Says…I’m wearing my orange ribbon!

May 16, 2010

Did you know that animals have their own advocacy ribbon?  It’s orange!  The orange ribbon represents support for animals!  Wear your orange ribbon and consider participating in one of these many upcoming events this coming month:

Saturday, May 22nd – Adoptapalooza is being held in Washington Square Park in NYC from 11 am to 4pm.  Also on the 22nd, the SPCA of Luzerne County is conducting a Rabies and Microchip Clinic from 2 pm to 5pm.

Saturday June 5th – Barnes and Noble at the Arena Hub in Wilkes Barre is hosting another Book Fair and all you need to do is use the SPCA’s I.D. number – 10132694 and the SPCA of Luzerne County will receive a portion of the sales. Also on June 5th – my good friend Samantha Aben will be skating in the 24th Annual ISI Team Figure Skating Competition at Chelsea Piers in NYC – OK so this is not related to animal welfare, however, I am quite excited for my good friend, Samantha….it is an honor that she is in this competition!

Sunday June 13th – This is one busy day – for walkers, there is the Annual Pet Walk to benefit the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter (Formerly known as the Lackawanna County Humane Society) and for bikers, there is the Annual Wyoming Valley Motorcycle/SPCA Run for the Animals to benefit the SPCA of Luzerne County.

WOW – there is much fun to be had over the next month! So enjoy the sunshine and participate in some fun and fabulous events!
